Global Talent is one of the few UK visas that does not require a job offer. It is open to applicants recognised as leaders or potential leaders in academia and research, arts and culture, or digital technology. Because it is not tied to a sponsor, it allows you to work, start a business and change employer freely.
A two-stage process
You first obtain an endorsement from the body responsible for your field, then apply for the visa. The fee splits accordingly: £561 at endorsement and £205 at the application. Only holders of a listed prestigious prize skip the endorsement stage.
References carry the file
Endorsing bodies measure impact through independent third-party assessment, so who writes your references matters as much as what they say.
